  Step 1: Translate to your own language
  

  First, make sure you translate the website to English or whatever language you are most comfortable in. Click here to find out how to translate the website.
  
  

  Step 2: Find something that suits you, in your area

  On the homepage you will see a bar where you can enter your zip code or city. After this you can choose how far from your own city / zip code you want to travel to meet up with a volunteer. On the right you find the two choices: 'Ik wil helpen' which means I want to help, or 'Ik zoek hulp' which means I am looking for help. Make sure that the box 'Ik zoek hulp' is filled with the colour green when you are looking for volunteers. Click on 'Search'.
  You will now see a list of volunteers. If you are looking for a particular kind of volunteer who is interested in 'vluchtelingenondersteuning' which means 'helping refugees' you can check that box or immediately click here.
  
  

  Step 3: Get in touch

  Found someone that you believe could be a match? Then make contact by sending a message. Sending messages is always via the website. So no one will get your personal details immediately. In order to write a reaction you must first register yourself .After the first contact back and forth, it is good to make an introductory appointment, to see if you are a match and both have a good feeling about each other. We always recommend to not meet at home at the first meeting, but in a public place such as a library or a café. Read here some tips for making contact.
  
  

  Step 4: Yes, you found your match!

  A match! This can be for a one-day job or a long-term contact like a buddy. Many people have done it before you and have experienced that it is not only nice to be helped, but it is also great to do something for someone else. You can leave a thank you or a recommendation for someone via the website . This is fun for the other person to receive and so we keep the website safe & reliable.

  Step 1: Try to write your profile in Dutch.

  Ask for help from for example your Dutch teacher at the AZC in Beverwaard,your friends or neighbours. Explain in your profile that your Dutch is not very good yet but that you are trying to learn it.
  
  

  Step 2: Tell something about yourself and make it personal.

  Add a profile picture so people can see what you look like. People will read your profile and decide if they want your help or not, so make it inviting:).
  
  

  Step 3: Tell something about the kind of help

  Tell something about what kind of help you need and at what days and what time you are available. Would you like to learn Dutch, do you need help with riding a bike or maybe with some difficult forms that you have to fill out? Write it all down. This information will help others to send you a message as well.
