Are you or do you know someone aged 65 or older who has a special bond with a buddy? We are looking for an older person (m/f) and his/her buddy (of any age) to play the leading role in a short video together. We are making this film with Kaap Films and it shows how valuable it is to have a buddy in your life. What are we looking for? - A person aged 65 or older who is open to a nice video recording about his/her life. - A buddy who regularly hangs out with him/her, for example by walking together, chatting or doing fun things. - Both enjoy sharing their story and inspiring others! The film shows what life was like before the main character had a buddy, and what it is like now. The recordings will take place at the main character's home (don't worry, the address will remain private) and perhaps at another location that is important to your bond. The recordings will take place in December. The video will be shared via the channels of Zorgzaam010 at the end of January. Collect cartridges for CliniClowns

Do you still have empty cartridges at work? Don't throw these away, but hand them in at the CliniClowns Collection Centre! Donate your old sleeping bag for the homeless

Tens of thousands of people will sleep in the cold tonight. Donate old sleeping bags and help the homeless through the night! Sheltersuit turns it into a wind and waterproof jacket with a zip-on sleeping bag, for anyone who is forced to sleep outside. ⚡ This is what you will do Every sleeping bag counts when you're literally out in the cold. So clean up your attic and that of others and collect all old sleeping bags. You can donate these at all Het Goed thrift stores in your area. Note: not every sleeping bag is usable. These are good: • Synthetic thick and thin sleeping bags; • Preferably washed and should be of somewhat good looking; • The zipper may be broken; • The liner must not be broken; • Down/wool sleeping bags cannot be donated, unfortunately. You can hand in your old sleeping bags with every acceptance of goods at one of the 28 thrift stores of Het Goed. 🌙 For this you make all the difference Sheltersuit helps homeless people and refugees who are forced to sleep outside. Due to the increasing demand from aid organizations at home and abroad, no less than 16,500 sleeping bags are needed. Challenge: build a hedgehog house

Hedgehogs have less and less space to live. They could really use our help! Every year, 135,000 hedgehogs die in traffic alone. Fortunately, we can help the hedgehogs. The Netherlands has 3 billion square meters of garden. And gardens are an important habitat for hedgehogs. A place where they find food and shelter. By helping hedgehogs in your garden, they don't have to travel long distances to find enough food. There is less chance that they have to cross a road. You can make a difference with your garden. Make your garden hedgehog-friendly: build a hedgehog house, provide a few junk corners and food in your garden. Together we make the whole of the Netherlands a home for hedgehogs. Challenge: taking pictures in the Kralingse Bos

There is a special place in the Kralingse Bos: the Wolvenvallei. In 2020, the forest here has been redesigned. Space has been made for a creek with nature-friendly banks. The municipality of Rotterdam follows the development of this new biotope by sharing photos. The photo series can be followed online via a timelapse. Anyone can contribute to this by uploading a photo on location. You can contribute too! Do you ever visit the Kralingse Bos? Then walk along the wolf valley and take a picture! Pass On That Bike!

Do you have a bicycle in the shed or cellar that you are not using? Then make another Rotterdammer happy. Give your bicycle to the Bicycle Bank. Cycling is fun and healthy. You can get everywhere by bike: to work, school, friends and family, hobby or sport. But, not everyone has a bicycle yet. It would be fantastic if donating a used bicycle became as common as taking empty bottles to the bottle bank. The Municipality of Rotterdam is therefore working together with the organization of the Tour de France Femmes to collect as many bicycles as possible. Do you also have a bicycle left? The annual report Discrimination Figures in 2023 shows that the number of registrations and reports has increased in 2023. A foundation by and for parents of the allowance affair For years, parents have been wrongly accused by the Tax Authorities as fraudsters, with unprecedented emotional, relational and financial consequences. Unfortunately, there are tens of thousands of families who suffer from the consequences of the allowance affair and they are still waiting for recovery. As a volunteer of the (Equal) Worthy Recovery Foundation, you can provide direct support and make a difference for a family. Since October 2023, the (Equal) Worthy Recovery Foundation has been offering a people-oriented recovery approach developed by parents and independent (personal injury) experts. We work from our own direction, trust, neutrality and collectivity. Our goal is to resolve the allowance affair together more quickly and to offer parents the opportunity for emotional and financial recovery. To be able to do this for the many affected parents, we need you! Where you can make a difference for a parent by participating as a Listening Writer. This is what you do as a Listening Writer The recovery route focuses on the parent's own story, the Factual Account. In order to put this on paper, the parents (the Storytellers) are supported by a Listening Writer: a volunteer from society who listens without judgement and writes down the Parent's Factual Account. For the parent, the Factual Account consists of 3 parts: who were you before all the misery started, where are you now and where do you want to go? When the Factual Account is on paper, the parent can choose to have it calculated. In this way, as a volunteer, you make an important contribution to the parent's emotional and financial recovery. This is who you are as a Listening Writer Perhaps you have been following the news for years, the benefits affair affects you, you feel the urgency, and you want to do something concrete. By helping out, you are in fact saying to the people involved: I see and believe you. It is precisely this equality that motivates you to use your time and skills. As a person, you connect easily, equally and respectfully. You are open and curious about the person involved. You can listen deeply, unbiased and without (pre)judgments. You dare to ask questions and know how to create a safe environment. In addition, you are a fellow resident of the Netherlands. How? Support online (or offline/physical) 1 to 2 hours per week with practicing the Dutch language and other subjects that are challenging. Profile: - You are proficient in the Dutch language - Familiarity with the Dutch education system - Very nice if you have a background in education, pedagogy, speech therapy, or are an experienced school expert yourself. - Curious about or can easily deal with other cultures - You have the time and space to meet with children weekly Job description: As a TOBaatje you help a child/young person (7-18 years) from a newcomer family if homeschooling is not going well. You offer support with doing homework, practicing the Dutch language, arithmetic and other challenging school subjects. Sometimes you have the role of mentor/buddy. Are you available for 1 or more hours per week for at least 3 months to guide someone? Then this is the perfect vacancy for you! Shahed (17) would like to complete HAVO. Will you help her with Dutch? Thanks to the help of another homeschooling buddy, Shahed was able to complete her VMBO with good grades. Now she is in 4 Havo and can use some extra support again. She is looking for an online TOMaatje who wants to help her successfully complete high school. Do you want to help someone realize her potential? We are looking for a volunteer for Shahed who: - Want to teach online once a week. - Has a good command of the Dutch language. - Is not afraid of the upper secondary school material to ensure that you can make good agreements. In consultation, you agree on a time during the week when you can provide online support. After that, it's time to have fun contact with each other and, above all, do a lot of homework together. How do we support you? You will receive guidance from TOMaatjes at the start, with tips for lesson content and access to the community with other TOMaatjes in it. Every 1-2 months there is an online intervision with lectures from professionals or you can discuss in groups how you can get more out of the tutoring. What do I need for it? - Be open to another culture. - Before you can start, we will request a Certificate of Good Conduct for you free of charge. Once it has arrived, you can start as soon as possible. - Want to help with everything that is covered in the upper years of HAVO. Being a homeschooling buddy is truly a very rewarding task. It starts with tutoring, but many of our volunteers really build a bond with the family where they work. Are you a good listener, remain impartial and do you enjoy helping others find a solution to the housing nuisance that people experience? Then we would like to talk to you. Because your understanding, patience and attention can help others. The help of Neighborhood Mediation Rotterdam is often called in when neighbors find it difficult to talk to each other or cannot come to an agreement themselves. You as a neighborhood mediator are then that trained volunteer who will mediate. How? By talking to the neighbors about it, helping them listen to each other and find their own solution. The mediation is therefore not a question of 'who wins and who loses'. A mediation is successful if the residents involved go home with a solution or agreements that they are both satisfied with. Neighborhood mediators come to people's homes, are active throughout Rotterdam and plan the appointments with the neighbors themselves. Enthusiastic help with giving swimming (lessons)

We provide swimming lessons and other swimming activities to people with disabilities in the following swimming pools: the Alexanderhof in Rotterdam and also in swimming pool Groenoord and swimming pool Zuid in Schiedam. In swimming pool Overschie in Overschie especially for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We also provide swimming activities and swimming lessons in Vlaardingen de Kulk, Kerkpolder in Delft, De Viergang in Pijnacker, de Driesprong in Zoetermeer, Schiedam Groenoord and Schiedam Zuid, Poortugaal-Rhoon and de Hoge Bomen in Naaldwijk. Because swimming is tailor-made for this target group, we are looking for volunteers to be able to give these people, often children, careful swimming lessons. The times are from 18:00 - 19:30 on Tuesday evening swimming pool the Alexanderhof Rotterdam. and from 18:00 - 19:30 on Thursday evening swimming pool Groenoord Schiedam. Friday evening in Schiedam Zuid from 19:00-20:30. Wednesday evening Poortugaal-Rhoon from 19:00 - 20:45. We also give swimming lessons and activities to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We do this in the Schiedam Zuid swimming pool on Friday evenings from 19:00 - 20:30. We are also looking for volunteers here. So you can choose Tuesday evenings in Rotterdam, or Thursday evenings in Schiedam, and Friday evenings in Rotterdam, but it would be great if you can do all evenings. So they are not whole evenings!! In Vlaardingen we give exercise activities for (Adults) on Tuesday evenings and Wednesday mornings. On Wednesday afternoons we give exercise activities for adults and swimming lessons for children in the Kerkpolder swimming pool in Delft. On Wednesday afternoons we also give swimming lessons to children in Zoetermeer de Watergeus. On Wednesday afternoons we give swimming lessons to children in Naaldwijk de Hoge Bomen. On Wednesday evenings we give swimming lessons and exercise activities in Poortugaal swimming pool Albrandswaard. We would really appreciate it if you have some knowledge of dealing with people who often have mental problems, but also physical problems. Some experience with swimming, preferably swimming instructor A or ROAK, or nowadays level 2 or higher. European swimming instructor is really great. If this is missing, then you can help under the supervision of an expert, so that you can be trained internally. Specific courses can always be followed for this. The most important thing is, do you enjoy helping with this target group in a nice warm swimming pool.
